Crisp Clear Choice Pale (EBC 4) – 3500g

CaraMalt (EBC 90) – 200g

MINERALS:

Gypsum – 10.6g

Epsom Salt – 3.9g

HOPS:

Centennial – 2g – 60 minutes

Citra, Mosaic – 12g – 0.8g/l – 20 minutes

Citra, Mosaic – 24g – 1.5g/l – 10 minutes

Citra, Mosaic – 54g – 3.5g/l – Aroma steep for 30 minutes @ 71.7°C

STRIKE VOLUME: 18.24 litres @ 71.3°C

SPARGE VOLUME: 1x kettle taken from the strike water

BREWING NOTES:  Probably the cleanest and easiest brew day I’ve ever had! Great smelling wort too. Slightly higher mash temperature, which only dropped 1°C over the 60 minutes. Surprisingly high OG. Grain absorption and boil off rate were both changed in the calculator after measurements on this brew. I’ll need to do a re-brew when the fermenters free to check the calibration. Yeast pitched the following morning at 23°C, was down to 19°C the following morning with the start of airlock activity.

TASTING NOTES: Very underwhelming beer. Is it the Clear Choice Pale malt? Not had good results with it so far. Might use it up in stouts.
